Subject: [CAPNC] E.S. Training For September
As several members are aware, we had plans to hold the first
Advanced Ground Team School in September. This was to have been a joint
effort between The Johnston County Cadet Squadron and Group 3. However,
after multiple attempts via email and voicemail messages sent, I have
been unable to make contact with the member who was to obtain the
special use permit
for us to use Medoc Mountain State Park for the school. We had also
been notified that the E.S. budget for this fiscal year had been drained.
However, with the announcement of the extension of the training
budget, and with coordination with Lt. Col. Crawford, the Johnston County
Cadet Squadron will be conducting E.S. training on Saturday-Sunday, 15-16
September.
The training will be funded under a Mission Number. The mission base
will be the Johnston County Airport. The training will begin at 0900.
We will setup a field communications center, to be able to have VHF and
hopefully HF communications capabilities.
There will be MRO and CUL training/task sign off available. The commo
personnel are welcome, but not required to spend the night in the
field. I have secured use of a CAP van, and other units are welcome to
bring theirs. We will have Ground Team sorties both on and away from the
airport property throughout the day and into the night/overnight. There
will be GTM 3,2,1, and Leader training/task signoffs available. We
will have crash scene surveillance training included. There will not be
UDF training or signoffs this month. All units are welcome to join us.
All personnel attending will need to be MRO, CUL, GTM 3/2/1/Leader
trainees or fully qualified in the NC Wing database. If you will be
attending, please reply to this Email so I can have an idea of the total
number of personnel. If you need tasks signed off, please include them
in your message, so I can do my best to accomodate everyone. I will
need to hear from you by Thursday, 13 September to give me time to
finalize planning.
If there are any aircrews that would like to train in conjunction
with us, we will be happy to provide air/ground coordination, day and
night signalling (we have the ability to signal with smoke, flares,
strobes, mirrors, panels...), etc. Any interested aircrews, please
contact Lt. Col. Crawford to coordinate (I am not an Air Branch Director,
only a Ground Branch director, sorry).

Emergency Services Officer

your 101 card does not qualify you. Anything can be put in the computer as a trainee. You must have a SQTR with all of the prereqs signed off in orfer to be a trainee.
Anyone that shows me a SQTR qualifiing them in one of these catagories is welcome to go Providing they can find a ride. I am going to try and go but i already agreed to go to a meeting at wing HQ i may not be able to get out of. |
